PAT10-1 ANNEALING KILN

Expand the production capacity of your glass studio with the 11.4-cubic-foot PAT10-1 glass annealing kiln. Make glass vases, bowls, and figurines without worrying about having enough annealing capacity.

The PAT10-1 is designed for annealing, so the maximum temperature is 1100°F (593°C). With this kiln, you are buying only the heating capacity that you need for annealing.

Level the kiln in minutes with levelers that are built into the feet.

The massive lid is easy to lift with Paragon's patented LiteLid, which does away with cumbersome pulleys and cords and dramatically reduces lid weight. Unlike pulleys and weights, the LiteLid is self-contained on the kiln. There is no need to drill holes in the ceiling for pulleys. The LiteLid sharply reduces wear between the lid and top rim of firebrick. The truss and floating lid allow expansion of the lid. The PAT10-1 has two LiteLid assemblies.

The lid includes a 16” front handle and two side handles. A safety switch turns off power to the heating elements when you raise the lid. The controller remains powered and automatically resumes firing when you close the lid.

A fiber rope seal lines the inner lid surface on all four sides. The top of the firing chamber where the lid rests when closed is grooved to accept the rope seal for a tight fit.

You will enjoy the convenience of digital firing. The solid state Sentry Xpress controller continually monitors the firing so you can spend your time productively without closely watching the kiln. The sealed touch pad keeps out dust and is easy to wipe clean.

The kiln heats from the four sides. Dropped, recessed brick grooves protect the elements for long life. The kiln is heavily insulated for economical operation. The insulating firebricks and fiberboard, wrapped in heavy-gauge steel, soak up heat for slow, efficient cooling:

  • 4” thick top: 4” ceramic fiberboard
  • 4 1/2” thick walls: 2” ceramic fiberboard and 2.5” firebricks
  • 3” thick firebrick bottom

A mercury relay is standard on this kiln. The relay sends power to the elements on command from the digital controller. The life of the quiet, reliable mercury relay has been measured in millions of on/off cycles.

Paragon’s PAT10-1 is made for years of rigorous firing with a heavy 2” tubular steel frame. A heat shield and 1 3/4” air gap between the kiln and ventilated switch box help keep electrical components cool for long, trouble-free service. Costly heavy-gauge nickel-plated copper wiring is covered with high temperature glass-braided insulation. The thermocouple, which senses temperature inside the kiln, is protected with a high-nickel stainless steel sheath for long life. Turn off power to the controller when the kiln is not in use using an on/off switch on the control panel.

The PAT10-1 has a durable high temperature, water-base finish. We chose water-base paint because of the low emissions during spraying. This creates a safer working environment for our employees and cuts down on pollution.

There is no extra charge for crating. Inquire about the crating cost of a competitive kiln when figuring prices. Most Paragon round and square kilns are packed in wooden crates at no extra charge.
